Everything is a dollar

Not a dollar for paperbacks and more for hardcovers. One dollar, for anything on the tables. Hardcovers, trade paperbacks, children's books, cookbooks, textbooks, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks and video games. All genres, no exceptions and no haggling required.

We take cash and Venmo.

Over a thousand new items every month

The tables are restocked completely from everything we collect across Tampa Bay during the month, so the sale is genuinely different every time. If you came in March, April is a new shop.

There is no curation and no theme, which is the appeal. Regulars turn up looking for nothing in particular and leave with an armful. First come, best picks, so the early part of the morning is worth it if you are hunting for something specific.

How this supports local libraries

Our book sales raise money for South Holiday Library and the Clearwater Library System. That is the plain reason the flyer says cheap books that support local libraries, and it is why the sale exists at all.

Much of what is on the tables also came from Florida library and Friends of the Library groups we work with, who share in the proceeds of what we sell for them. So a dollar spent here goes back to local libraries twice over.

We are a business rather than a charity, so none of this is a tax write-off for anyone. The money raised for the libraries is simply real money, and it comes from selling books at a dollar.

It is outdoors, in the parking lot

Worth knowing before you come. The sale runs in the parking lot at 5266 State Road 54, so it is all at ground level with no steps, and parking is free and right there. Bring a bag or a box, because a dollar goes further than people expect. In summer, come early: it is Florida, and it is a parking lot.

Bring your donations with you

Sale day is a good time to drop books off, since we are open and there are people around to help you unload. Any quantity is fine on a sale day, even under the usual thirty book minimum. Check the list of things we cannot take before you load the car, and if you have more than you can carry, book a free pickup instead.
