Donate DVDs, CDs and video games

Movies, music, audiobooks and games are just as welcome as books. We collect them free from homes across Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough, or you can drop off any amount.

The discs and media we take

  • DVDs. Films, TV box sets, documentaries and fitness discs. Loose discs are fine if the case is missing, as long as the disc itself is clean.
  • Music CDs. Any genre, single albums or a whole collection.
  • Audiobooks on CD. Complete sets are preferred, but ask us either way.
  • Video games. Any console, any era, with or without the case.
  • Cassette tapes. Both music and spoken word.

What we cannot use

  • VHS tapes. There is no resale market left for them.
  • Cracked or badly scratched discs. Light wear is fine; a disc that will not play is not.
  • Empty cases. A case with no disc has no value to anyone.

Two ways to donate them

Free pickup. Box everything up, leave it somewhere sheltered such as a porch or garage, and we collect on our route day for your area. You do not need to be home. Discs and books can go in the same boxes, and discs count toward the thirty item pickup minimum just as books do.

Drop-off. Bring any amount to 5266 State Road 54 in New Port Richey, Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm. No minimum and no appointment, and we will help you carry it in. Drop-off details.

Why a media reseller rather than the bin

Discs are easy to write off, and a bag of old DVDs often goes straight in the trash. We sell books and media for a living, so every disc gets looked at individually rather than judged by the box. That is how the ones worth something get found instead of thrown away. What happens after we collect.

Questions about donating discs

Do you take DVDs without their cases?

Yes. A clean loose disc is still worth something, so do not throw it out because the case has gone. The one thing we cannot use is the reverse: an empty case with no disc in it.

Do you take VHS tapes?

No. There is no resale market left for VHS, and most curbside programs will not take them either. Cassette tapes are a different story, and we do take those, music and spoken word alike.

Do I need to separate the discs from the books?

No. Mixed boxes are completely normal. Pack them however is easiest for you and we sort everything by hand at our end.

Do you take video games for old consoles?

Yes, any console and any era, with or without the case.

Do discs count toward the pickup minimum?

Yes. DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and video games all count toward the thirty item pickup minimum, whether they are mixed in with books or make up the whole collection. Under thirty, the drop-off in New Port Richey takes any amount with no appointment.

Clearing a whole house, not just the media shelf? Our book removal service covers entire collections.
