Schools, libraries and Friends groups
This is where MaxX Multi Media started, and it is still the part of the business we know best.
We have worked with more than twenty Florida library and Friends of the Library groups since 2024. Our founder built the eBay store for East Lake Community Library as a volunteer, and the work grew from there. We sponsored the Florida Library Association's 2026 Annual Conference.
Libraries and Friends groups are handled on our main site
This site is for households. Institutional work, meaning libraries, Friends of the Library groups, schools and other organizations, is a different service with different terms, and it lives at maxxmultimedia.org.
The important difference: your group can earn from its donated stock rather than simply clear it. We sell the material online and split the net proceeds with your group, which is a better outcome for you than a straight cleanout.
What we handle for institutions
- Weeded stock that did not sell at your book sale
- Whole classroom or media center cleanouts
- Donations you cannot shelve and do not have room to store
- Discards, including anything stamped, labeled or jacketed
- AV material: DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks on CD, cassettes and games
All of it is arranged through maxxmultimedia.org rather than the form on this site, so you get the right agreement and the revenue share rather than a household pickup slot.
Who we have worked with
Friends of Seminole Library, Friends of St. Pete Beach Library and Friends of Starkey Ranch TLC are among the groups we have worked with, each of whom has written about the partnership in their own newsletters. We are glad to share results with any group considering working with us, privately on request.
