Large Book Collection Pickup in Palm Harbor, FL
A room of shelves, a garage, a whole library. We collect large collections across Palm Harbor free of charge, on a trip of their own.
What counts as a large collection
Our ordinary pickup minimum is thirty items. A large collection is the other end of that scale: a room of shelves, a converted garage, a teacher's career worth of classroom books, a collector downsizing. Once it is past a few hundred books it stops being a stop on a round and becomes its own trip.
We run these throughout Palm Harbor and across Pinellas County, including East Lake, Lansbrook, Innisbrook and Tarpon Springs.
Why big jobs go on a Wednesday
Ordinary Palm Harbor pickups ride on our Monday route. A big job should not have to. We keep Wednesdays clear for large collections, anywhere in Pasco, Pinellas or Hillsborough, so a big collection gets the right vehicle and enough hands rather than being fitted around ten other stops. Tell us the scale on the form and we will call to arrange the time.
You do not need to sort it first, and we would rather you did not. Sorting is the slowest part of the job for you and the fastest part for us. Box what you reasonably can, leave the rest on the shelves, and we will work through it.
The Monday round works its way down the coast, so where you sit on it affects the time of day more than whether we come at all. If the timing matters to you, say so on the form and we will try to place you early or late in the run.
Everything, or just the good ones?
We take all of it, within what we can accept. The reason people call us instead of a hauler is that we are booksellers, so we can tell what is worth something. The reason they call us instead of a used bookstore is that we do not leave the leftovers behind. Both matter on a collection this size.
We cannot take VHS tapes, mass-market paperbacks, encyclopedia sets, Reader's Digest Condensed volumes, magazines and newspapers, or anything with mould, water or insect damage. The full list is worth a look before a big job so there are no surprises on the day.
Whatever we can sell goes on the tables at our monthly $1 book sale, and that sale raises money for the Friends of the Clearwater Library System, just south of you. That is the short version of where a Palm Harbor collection ends up.
We work out of New Port Richey, so Palm Harbor is a short run south of our office. That also makes dropping off yourself a realistic option if you would rather not wait for a route day, and there is no minimum and no appointment for a drop-off.

Book a free Palm Harbor pickup
How many books is too many for one pickup in Palm Harbor?
We have not found the ceiling yet. A thousand books is a normal Wednesday for us. If it is genuinely a whole library, tell us on the form and we will plan the vehicle and the crew around it rather than guessing.
Do you bring boxes?
No, and it is better to know that in advance on a job this size. We carry no spare boxes. Grocery stores will usually give away banana boxes, which are the right size and strong enough, and liquor stores are the other reliable source. We bring the people and do all the carrying.
Is a large Palm Harbor collection still free?
Yes. There is no charge for pickup at any size, and no charge for the Wednesday trip.
Can you come on a monday instead?
If it fits on the route, yes. The Wednesday slot exists because a big collection usually does not fit, and squeezing it into a round day means a rushed job. Ask on the form and we will tell you honestly which is better.
