How pickups work in Clearwater

We are in Clearwater every Monday

Clearwater is on the Monday Pinellas route. We run fixed weekly routes so several pickups in one area go on the same trip, which is a large part of how we keep pickup free. Send your request before Monday and you are usually on that week’s run.

Clearwater has a rhythm the rest of our coverage does not: seasonal residents. Every spring we get a run of calls from people closing up a condo for the season or leaving Florida for good, and books are always the last thing on the list.

Neighborhoods and areas we collect from

Countryside, Clearwater Beach, Island Estates, Sand Key, Morningside, Del Oro Groves, Skycrest, Feather Sound, Safety Harbor, Dunedin, and everywhere else inside Pinellas County.

ZIP codes covered: 33755, 33756, 33759, 33760, 33761, 33762, 33763, 33764, 33765, 33767

Give your books a second life

Books you have finished with in Clearwater do not get thrown in a skip. Every box is opened and sorted by hand by people who sell books for a living, which is how anything genuinely worth something gets spotted rather than binned. A great deal of the rest lands on the tables at our monthly community book sale, priced at a dollar so local people actually take it home.

That sale raises money for South Holiday Library and the Clearwater Library System. So a shelf you have cleared in Clearwater turns into cheap books for a neighbor and funding for a local library. That is the whole idea: contribute to community book sales that support libraries, rather than watching a lifetime of reading go out with the recycling.

Clearwater questions

I am a snowbird leaving for the season. Can you come while I am away?

Yes, if you can arrange access. People leave boxes with the front desk, with a neighbor, or in a garage with a code. Put the arrangement in the notes box on the form and we will confirm it in writing before we come.

Does any of this benefit Clearwater libraries?

Yes. Our monthly MaxX Book Bonanza sale raises money for the Clearwater Library System and South Holiday Library, and we supply Little Free Libraries and Friends of the Library bookstores around the county.

Do you serve Dunedin and Safety Harbor?

Yes, along with Palm Harbor, Oldsmar and Tarpon Springs. All of Pinellas is inside our area.

My condo association has rules about vendors. Is that a problem?

Almost never. Tell us the building and we will call the office to find out what they need. We have dealt with most of the larger associations in the county at some point.
